Not really, if you can get the rim seperate it will be/could be cheaper in the end.
The tires on both of those only run somewhere around 600-800 for the set, so thats over 400-600 just for the rims. If you can find just some 17's or 18's and then price out some tires you can be in it for 900-1000. But I guess location and what is avalible at the time come into play. I see dealerships selling those new combo's for over $1500-1700 sometimes, they are crazy to think anyone would want to just fork that over. You can find factory knock offs for 500-600 bucks, then add some tires and still be under their price. |
Okay thanks! I'll keep looking. I just need to find something before snow, so I've got some time

I've determined that Craigslist and Ebay are full of overpriced rims

Go to some local wheel shops... I know the ones around here sell factory take-offs at fair prices. They usually just want them out of they're shop cause they take up space.
Sometimes even the dealership will have factory take-offs for sale...likely more money though. |
Found a salvage yard down south which is pretty good size. Luckily my friend lives nearby and is coming up in a few weeks.
I called down and just briefly they had: Chrome 17" x 7.5", around a '06-'07 style. 6 lug, "8 hole"?? for $350 (for 4 rims) Or a 97-'13 model year, 18" for $400 (for 4 rims) |

Depending the shape of the tires on those 18's I like that option.

I contacted him. 9,000 miles on the tires. He owns the truck they came off of. These are nearby to me.
I also found for $1000 obo, those same rims (18") with tires, TMPS, lug nuts with 50 miles on them! However, I'd have to pull a few favors and have my buddy drive 3 hours round trip for them. |
That sounds like a pretty good deal to me!
