Any sponsors sell cams specific to the newer motors? I've been told that neither of the cams I have will work in the motor I have as a direct swap... who do I need to call?

two things.
You have AFM, I have not heard of anyone running a cam and keeping AFM on and working. So disable it. The AFM lifters are only good up to like .580 lift or something like that, so dont get to crazy on the lift without replacing them.
2nd, you need a LS7 cam timing wheel. this allows the 3 bolt mounting and has the cam sensor needed for the Gen IV engine.
other than those things, you can run any cam you want.

so LS7 upper timing cog and turn off AFM and I'm good to run the LS1 cams I have from my old motors? hmmm... will old style LS1 lifters work in the new motors? I have a set of Comp 850s I could throw in if I ever pull the heads I guess...

that I'm not sure of. Lookup if they'll work in a LS2...the LS2 would be the same as the 5.3
