A couple of years ago I spent a bunch of money on a professionally built 60e.

Like many here, I’d read over and over again, “....just do the 80e swap.....”.

Counting that transmission and the rebuilds that came after that, fluid, converter cleanings, etc, I’ve spent about $10k on that transmission.

I’ve had the 80e in my truck since February and I haven’t had any issues. I had a local rebuilder build it stock with the internal dual-feed mod.

Take it for what it’s worth.

I sold the truck but yes it made 630 wheel and so far has stayed together from the most recent rebuild. The TC still shutters when locking under normal driving. I tried everything and it was still there. New owner is experiencing the same thing.

I'm with the other guys, with the amount of $ for multiple rebuilds, multiple torque converters, 4 or 5 times removing and installing it, months of down time... I would go 80 or the black edition from permabuilt.
