The tire I looked at, a 325/60-18 Nitto Terra Grappler had a sticker on it that said to use rims 9"-11". Both dealers I have been speaking with agreed you can cheat by 1/2" at most. So, yes, you can run this tire on a 8.5" rim. However, I am now buying this Ultra "Lightning" wheel, which is 18" x 9" with the 325/60-18 Nitto Terra Grappler tire which is 32.9" dia.
Wise choice

Yes, they are Ultra "Lightnings" 18 x 8.5 with 285/65R18 Nitto Terra Grappler tires. 2-1/2" Truxxx Level-lift in front and 1" block spacer lift in rear.
Pics were terrible as it was getting dark and my camera phone sucks. I will be taking better pics (all angles) as soon as I can.
