what size are the injectors in a 6.2L

2012 Silverado 6.2l flex fuel how many lbs @58psi?

cam 11-23-2012 08:28 AM

Im not sure but im in for the answer too. I know the 07 Escy 6.2L injectors are 30lb

Boober 11-23-2012 02:55 PM

right around 50# at 58psi.

BTW, normal desired rail pressure for flex fuel is actually 3 bar. High flow is 4 bar.

JCunningham 11-23-2012 04:05 PM

Thanks but I dont know what bar means. why im asking is my maggie tvs1900 came with pink 0280156030 injectors that are 42lb @ 58psi. Justin told me these are to small for my 6.2l @ 8ib of boost and to put the stock ones back in. He said my stock tune showed my stock injectors were 55 lb. I did find 1 post that said the stock injectors were only 42. I dont think thats right. The stock injectors are part #12609749

sand man 11-23-2012 06:34 PM

36 @ 43.5 if any one can convert this for us

sand man 11-23-2012 06:48 PM

after a google search , 41lbs@58psi

JCunningham 11-23-2012 11:09 PM

i hope the google search is wrong

The 6.2 flex fuel injectors are around 50 pounds per hour at 58psi. I dont know how to get a jpeg of the flow rate vs rail pressure Table in my stock tune but i can tell you 100% that 50#@58psi is what it shows. I'm not sure what the 5.3 flex fuel injectors are but I've heard they are lower. 58psi=4 bar, 43.5psi= 3 bar

Btw....your stock (50#) injectors are also too small for 8psi. When I just had my Whipple with 8psi on stock injectors, I was we'll over 90% (80% is generally considered safe) injector duty cycle at WOT. At 8psi, your actual rail pressure will be closer to 50psi. I have 60# injectors now and I'm still over 90% at WOT. The problem is with the returnless fuel system and the fuel pump control module and you don't even want to start looking in THAT mess, trust me. I gave up and am currently installing a meth injection system to make up for the high duty cycles at full throttle. Do yourself a favor and get some big (80#+) injectors, get your tune corrected for them and be done with it.

JCunningham 11-24-2012 02:13 PM

80Lb wow. thank you. When Justin did my tune it showed the pink 42lb injectors were at 97% at wot. Im guessing that the 42lb injectors that come with the SC were to small for even 6psi then?

JCunningham 11-24-2012 04:49 PM

you were exactly right about the fuel pressure being 50psi @wot. I just took it out and tested it. no pinging but I would need to take it on the interstate to check thru the entire rpm my wbaf reads 10.7 then gos up to 12.5 @ wot
