what hp/tq does a stock 6.2l 4x4 get at the rear wheels?
im woundering because i read a post on another forum of some one buying a new 2012 5.3l with plans to put a bunch of money into it to and only gets 300hp to the rear wheels. Why wouldnt you just pay the $2000 to get a 6.2l. I know its 402hp at the fly wheel but you dont loose more then 100hp to the rear wheels right?

if you do the rull of thumb of 25% drivetrain loss then this is what i come up with.
403flywheel x 25% = 100.75hp loss 403 - 100.75 = 302.25rwhp that's just a guess though, it all depends on what rim/gear/tire/dyno you are on. as for the why not spend the 2k on an upgrade, maybe they can't afford it? i dunno  |
They probably spent $5000 cash . They could have added $2000 to the loan. This is a new truck. Lot to shop.

Some models aren't able to have the 6.2 as an option.

mine bone stock put 340hp to the tire...

my neighbor just told me the shop he works for just got a new dyno. I asked him what kind of a deal he could get on using it and he said free. so maby I mite be able to get some time on it.He works at a tractor dealership so no tuning but he said the dyno is the same.

340 bone stock is a good number makes me happy to think mine could put that down. What size rim/tires was that on and gears? Also people always say the transfer case results in more loss, i get this to be true it 4wd not sure about 2wd tho. I am in for some more stock #s!
I did have a drop in K&N airfilter at the time but I pretty much still consider that stock lol |
