I'm sure all the 1/2 tons share the same leaf springs. Less cab weight and a shorter frame translates into less leverage compressing the springs. The longer wheelbase and additional weight of the crew/extended cabs lower those rear ends.

I got rid of my 04 1500 to get my 07 Vmax, one of the main reasons was the BETTER braking of the 07. No comparison IMO, my brother just bought an 01 ECSB that has the same 4 wheel disc setup my 04 had, wish him good luck and hope you don't rearend anyone.

My biggest complaint is drive by wire and the complete lack of instant throttle response.

I have 50k on my truck and I need new brakes all around. It doesnt stop and is pulsating. The rears are stronger than the front and on a emergency stop it feels like the *** of the truck wants to come around to meet the front.
It is on my list of crap to do.

On my 2008:

Clunks when at stops feels like some one hits you. Took it in for warranty guy said it was common, they greased some thing in the drive line pertaining to the drive shaft (dont have the service ticket in front of me), was good for a while, starting to come back.

Throttle response is horrible

Turns - I dont know what I can credit this to, but low speed turns, when you accelerate out, it feels like the trans slips out of gear, imagine it's just down shifting but it's some what annoying

Bumper to Bumper traffic - If you acclerate to say 5 or 10MPH, loud clunk you can you feel, also annoying.

Guys, the throttle response thing is inherent to the weight of these trucks. Even my 2000 at a meager 4600lbs suffers from this problem. I can't imagine a 5300 lb 4x4 NBS. The problem simply boils down to small engine displacement. To get the equivalent feel and throttle response of a 6.0 vette you'd probably need a 454 lsx in a truck and even then it probably wont be as good. It sucks because we spend a lot of money hopping up these things and at the end of the day they are still pigs for the most part at low rpm daily driving.

what I sure these guys mean is the fact you u step on the pedal and nothing happens...as in the delay of the DBW...my 2000 is pretty much the same truck as my new one and that was NO where near like my 2009...its really pathetic

I was aware of the 4 second WOT delay, but I thought the actuation of the TB at part throttle was instantaneous. Correct me if I am wrong.
