I know the fix to one of your problems. You NEED a D.I.C. switch to have a dome light when opening the doors.
I have a regular cab that came without the DIC switch. Pressing the dome overide in or out does nothing, it's basically just a dimmer. Install the switch and you will have many more options.

People will look at air horns and the crook would be stupid to just sit there. Especially if you put one in the cab.
I have a kill switch on mine that isn't hooked to the alarm.

07 Tahoe LT3...
+1 on the brakes being bad
+0 on the interior lights
+0 on the alarm
I think the RCSB may appear to be higher than the ECSB maybe due to the wheelbase being so much shorter--it may give the illusion of it being taller? I have seen some 07+ trucks that look way higher than others but it may be because of different trim packages and wheel/tire combos.

The dome light switch is next to the headlight switch. There is a round **** that pops out for the dash lights, then a button under that for the dome light. You need to push the button twice on the key fob and hear the horn before the alarm is set. I know my truck alarms with the windows and doors locked when you reach inside to unlock it. I tricked my brother with it.

JB on TTS and GMFS.com is selling a DIC upgrade. he wants 75$ shipped, since your in Houston you might get a better deal. get it.
Brakes do suck, but then again i've went to 22"s, back to 20"s, 22"s, 17"s, 20"s and probably caused alot of wear. but they aren't so bad. but i will still replace.
i'm happy with my glove/console space LT2
