TSP 220 going in my truck

Now that I have 34k mile I decided to let's go ahead and cam the truck. I'll be going the TSP 220 cam,springs,pushrods,25%UD pulley with new belts and ac tensioner,DOD delete,Circle D 3k,and a set of p&p 243s. Current mods that are on the truck are OBX lts with ORY,CAI,4.11 gears, 3"exhaust, and tune by ARD. I will also have the driveshaft high speed balanced. What do you guys think I'll be hp numbers after the swap??? Truck is a 5.3L 6speed..

How did you like those obx longtube headers I ask cause I'm still undecided which ones to get thanks!!!

ig109 06-09-2011 11:04 AM

Seems everyone likes the OBX headers.. i think they look like the quality is a bit compromised and the smaller collectors aren't desireable.

Im going with Dynatechs when i buy them.

They are built in the states.. INDIANA BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also i was at Hot Rod Power Tour in indy yesterday and seems hooker has quite the LT selection.. Perhaps they have some for our trucks..

Well I like them I haven't had any problems and I don't think I will But let me not jinx myself. Fit is great only thing is make sure you move the starter wire because one of the primaries will rub on it and it will melt. I say get them you cant go wrong

whos doin the install? and how much if u dont mind me askin?

Rubens09 06-10-2011 05:47 PM

Ill be doin the install it Will be my first cam install. I got one or two of my buddies that are gonna be helping so I think I'll be ok. I like to experiment with stuff like this. So far everything I've done to the truck has been done by me except the air helper kit and the gear swap. I got a little bit of help from my boys at work.

just get pacesetters, they are bigger am dont have any fitment issues to my knowledge. on the 6spd trucks you might as well get a custom Y pipe bc the pacesetter one doesnt fit.

also change the 3000 stall out for a 3200 you'll be happier. what cooler are you going to run? i vote Tru-Cool 40k no matter if its a stock stall to a 3600

310-325rwhp depending rim/tire combo an if the dyno is a giver it'll be more but id worry with the track times

Rubens09 06-11-2011 07:20 AM

Yeah I hear ya cooler is gonna be tru-cool 40k. I been debating if I should go 3200 or not it might leave some room for upgrade down the road. I got all of my DOD delete parts just waiting on cam parts and heads. I'll get pix up after I get outta work.
