Default Trouble/Hard Turning, Service Stabilitak

For a while now I have been receiving a service stabilitrak message that 90% of the time come on during a left turn, after an extended period of driving. There had never been any other issue other than the light coming on so I didn't think much of it. This morning however, while making a 90* left turn, the light came on and the driver's side wheel/tire was acting like 4wd was engaged and was not wanting to turn. I pulled over and once I was straightened back out it was like nothing had happened.

I have suspected that I was getting the message from the steering wheel position sensor. My question is, would the sensor going out cause this to happen? Thanks in advance for any info.

This might sound dumb, but my AWD Denali would do the same in the colder months, i ended up replacing the wheel hubs, and it needed a little more brake fluid, seemed to have fixed the issue since lol.

I also suspect your hubs. If it was your steering wheel sensor, you'd have a code for it. First check your connections to the hubs for corrosion and dirt.

I had one of the local shops here in town pull codes that wouldn't charge for it, dealership wanted $100 for a "diagnosis" fee. Came back with the steering wheel sensor code. Time to brush up on my youtube vids for changing it haha.

Interesting. Some fella recently learned that his had moved out of place. He pushed it back to where it is supposed to go and all was good with the computer system.

Got the new sensor installed last night, and it appears to be fixed. It was actually a fairly simple replacement, just isn't located in the roomiest of places. In case someone stumbles across this post, here is the part number for the replacement I used.
