replacement E38 Vats

i am putting a replacement e38 ecm in a 08 silverado, can efi live get VATS to work without licensing the ecm? . junkyard ecm from same model/yr/engine/trans

we put it in and it wont crank or start. guessing if i do license it i can just install the vats patch and full flash?

You have to license any computer to disable the VATS feature.

Or have a dealership do it.

If it wont even crank, you have another issue.

Is anything else dead or not working?
