Yeah the red truck sits level it has the rear blocks removed and has the 2 inch drop shackles. The gap looks like alot but its just due to the small low profile tire, I think with tires like mine it would look really good. We plan on doing a 3/5 later on we just decided to do this in the meantime. As far as a z71 goes I think what makes those trucks different is they sit a little higher in the front then a truck without the z71 suspension.

It still seems like it has a bit of rake to it.

Also to the op, blocks are the easiest thing to do. Literally took me and another friend 20 minutes to do it.

Raise rear end up, place stand under frame, loosen u bolts on one side, axle jack down, remove block, raise it back up making sure the center pin fits into place. Tighten back up and do the same to the other side.

So do the shackles first and see if its level than...if not pop the blocks...thats what I'm hearing.

If my truck is sitting a touch higher in the front I think a 3/5 will sit perfectly for my liking. I'm wanting to run 20's and 275/55 tires...thats stock size or there abouts

Thanks for the info man...and sorry for the thread jack OP.

I was thinking about drop shackles, but I tow a good bit and don't want to much sag in the back. Think I will start with removing the blocks and go from there

I can tell you with my 07 RCSB--Z71, I did the 2" shackles and removed the blocks at the same time, my *** is still about 1" higher than the front.

I need some updated pics but this will show you the rake even with 2" shackles and blocks removed.

Stock shocks will work fine even with 2" shackles and the 1" block removed.

They are the stock Texas Edition 20s. I just removed the black center cap thing.

when I pulled the blocks and added 2" drop shackles, mine was 36" to the fender on all 4 fenders. sat perfectly level. looks even better with 2" coil relocators!!!

I pulled my blocks and swapped in drop shackles. I think the nuts are actually 21mm though. I had a lot of corrosion on the higher threads on the u bolts so I had to take them out and wire brush them before I tightened them back up. There's plenty of thread though, you don't need different u bolts. Also, a ratchet strap from the axle shock mounts to the frame kept everything lined up nice.

Mine sits the same. I like a bit of rake so this is good. Blocks and 2" drop shackles in back. The reg cabs sit REALLY high in the back stock. Also, truck has dropped a bit overall since new.

I had to use 2 degree shims to get my u-joints back to where they like it. Most guys I have talked to did not have to do this, so not sure if its due to the factory optioned 20" wheel/suspension package or what...
