Default Real Facts With Throttle Body- Larger Or Ported

hey everyone
I've been doing some browsing and I see a lot of people getting the LS3 90mm, and I've seen a few 87mm Ported going on.

what is the REAL gains to doing this? I read in one thread a guy claimed 4rwhp at 3500rpm

is it useless to do unless i'm going FI or cam/heads etc? is this just something I should get on the list for when I do modify my engine?

which would be more beneficial, the 90mm or the ported 87mm?

would it run properly until I got my tune updated or would I be running lean?

thanks!

Ported Throttle body $90CND

90mm Throttle Body $145CND

90mm Throttle Body $190CND

links to different options i've seen
Why would there be a $50 ish difference between those 2 90mm's?

both those 90mm TBs you posted are the same 12605109 tb. just different prices. the 12605109 is the one you want. It will give you a little better drive ability as in you will get more throttle with less pressing of the throttle. you will need a CAI or a MIT to make it work tho. The oem air tube will hit the TB were the air tube bends. is it worth it not really unless you got the money to burn.

I do have a cai so I'm ok there. I'll have to consider this one for sure. It'd be safe to run until bb sent back my tune?

Also I've seen stuff on the LS7 MAF. Know anything about that?

the bb tune should be done after the 90mm is installed in the log you send them. on the stock tune I hear it decreases fuel milage. I dont see how it could do that tho. Never heard anything about the MAF. Your stock one if fine.
