Angry Preformed brake tubes for rear of 08 Silverado / drum brake setup?

08 Silverado LTZ 4WD drum brake set up in rear. Blew out the right rear steel brake line that runs from the junction block on top of the diff to the right wheel cylinder, after business hours.

Called the local Chev dealer and the parts manager told me that Chevrolet doesn't sell replacement lines. Been searching google all day without any positive leads.

The best local independent parts store thought that the tubing was 3/16ths, it's not, and he could identify the flare nut size / thread. Looks like tubing and nuts are metric.

Has anyone found replacement pre - formed lines, or proper size replacement tubing and nuts?

I have emailed SS Tube but they won't read it till Monday. I have replaced full sets of brake lines with stainless from SS Tube in my 2000 and 2003 Silverado's. The way Chevy goes cheap on brake parts it must be the only thing keeping the company in business.

Thanks in advance.

Isnt this what you need? I bought their full brake line kit a few years ago. Fit perfect.

Thanks a lot for the link. I hadn't found that page.

I did email SS tube but won't hear from them till Monday.

I've put their kits in two of my trucks, so far, and you're right they're a good company.

Meant to add; I've been busy trying to find a local fix so I can use the truck for a Thanksgiving trip. No luck so far.

No auto salvage places by you?

You can go to NAPA and they'll either have them in stock. My local one used to bend them up right there.

I am out in the salt marshes on eastern NC. Nearest salvage yard is an hour drive then time to remove the part. Not a bad idea, although I'm not sure I would want to replace Chevy brake lines with used Chevy brake lines.

I've been hoping for a quicker fix. Going to call a local brake specialty shop Monday morning, (Still hoping to save my Thanksgiving trip). If that doesn't work out I will order the tubes from SS Tube.

Thanks again for you thoughts and help.
