I hate to say it but i had a 4L60E built to a 4l65E on a 96 LT-1 camaro and its way lighter than ur truck and i kept blowing them up
BUT ive learned there is a way of keeping the tranny from blowing (but i would call it at 400rwhp) i could be wrong but from my experiance adding a 40K tru cool tranny cooler will help life on them, Cheyenne_87 (4.8)is at 341rwhp and 328rwtq with a cam headers ect.... with that cooler we are going to try to make 450ish give or take and will see if we dont blow it up lol

People will tell you different things, but I've got a crew cab with a 60E myself and the extra weight really does make a difference. Reliability and power handling goes down the drain. I don't have any mods planned, so I don't plan on going with an 80E. If I did have mods planned, I would. I've got a RCSB Colorado making good power on a built 60E and a CCSB Sierra, virtually stock, on a 60E with shift kit. Honestly, I'm more confident with the Colorado holding up, even with more power all because of weight. Plenty of places can build you a 60E that'll hold up to some power, but I'd rather invest that money in a stock/mild 80E.

CC05 has a point if ur gonna modd it go with the 80 and didnt mention about us having a built 80 on stand by for when the 60 goes out because it will GO we dont have a life so we like to push things and break things only way we'll learn

Hey man check out my truck, I'm still on the 60e and will be camping it next week. its holding up so far. to be safe id do a vette servo, transgo shift kit, and a try cool 40k cooler. my mods are in my sig and my tranny is holding up so far, even with 26's.

yeah everything is pretty good but this is just me thinking out loud lol maybe adding a set of long tube headers followed with a 3'' single catback exhaust???? just some more options to keep it breathing nicely
