Angry is my tuner even a real tuner!?

hey there guys.. i had an argument with my tuner yesterday im located in the middle east , dubai there arent any reliable tuners...

*09 Denali*

anyways when i installed the vararam air intake i went to him for a tune..
before the tune got 25awhp
after the tune 54awhp < in total..

i was reeeeeaaaaallllllllllyyyyy happy with the gains... 2 days ago i installed LT's from ARH 1 7/8 + cats i went to him to tune.. he only disabled the check engine light, i told him why wont u tune? i told him ill pay.. he said how do i tune ur headers? ur getting more flow so what could i do?? i already tuned ur car before i dont see why u wanna get a retune.. he says the car will adjust the fuel and stuff :S

do u guys suggest i do a dyno run and see how much i gained from the headers??? or not

i didnt say a thing i mean is what he said even LOGICAL????

sorry for the long thread

Just headers wont make that much of a difference to require a retune IMO, especially since you just got it tuned.... but of course it wont hurt.

With a tune already, it's not critical, but there are some adjustments that can be made for sure.

maybe someone could specify what changes would/could be made to compensate for the new headers so the OP will know what to ask for...

Increased timing wouldn't hurt as exhaust is being moved out of the engine faster and is being more efficient, as well as fueling changes to keep the AFR in check. The computer can make some changes, but whenever possible it is best to alter the tune instead of the computer "learning" it. Other than that, I'm not sure, and by no means am I an expert (more like a freakin tuning noob ) but those changes would make sense to me if I was to take a stab at it.

I'll agree with that. RE-adjusts the VE because air is moving out of the cylinder faster which will make it run richer. I'd do it personally as it gives you the best gain.

some changes have to be done to the maf table to get it back in line....ive seen as much as 10% diffrence in some cases..."depends on motor and header size" but it will not hurt it if it got driven and check it...
