I've been wanting to buy an extra stock y-pipe, cut the cats out and install it, keep my stock unit for inspection time.

I can't imagine much in the way of power gains, maybe 5 hp tops, I really want to do mine for sound. I'm not going for full performance mods on my truck, just cheap mod gains here and there.

Anyone know of a bolt in y pipe and cat delete replacement? I've seen them for the early 2000 certain and cameros ect. I just don't want to deal with the cats going out. I'll throw them back on if I ever need to sell her (seriously doubt it)

Haven't seen or heard of any that just bolt up to the stock exhaust manifolds.

Never taken it down the track. Its just a good, fairly quick DD. Maybe one day if I ever get it setup like I'd like and a nice drop.

On my 09 sierra, I cut off the large rear cat only. it got a little louder, but not anything to turn me away from doing it. i did feel a small amount of power increase in the mid-range so im glad i did it.
