2008 Yukon Denali 6.2 to 06 6.0 swap
Hey guys I'm new here and really need some help from some people that know. Is it any way possible to complete this swap. Bought this truck at a deal with a hurt 6.2 and I already had a 6.0 out of a 06 tahoe. I'm am poor and can't afford a 3000 6.2. Somebody please steer me in the right direction. I have the computer for the 6.0

Is it possible to swap a GEN 3 6.0 into the Yukon, yes but it will not be cheap nor will it be easy.
A quick run down of why.
GEN 3 is a 24x reluctor and GEN 4 6.2's are 58x.
GEN 4's like the 6.2 use can-bus, where as the GEN 3 vehicles do not.
You would have to completely disassemble the GEN 3 6.0 motor. Then swap reluctor wheels on the crank. Swap over to a 4x cam gear. Relocate the knock sensors to the side of the engine block, which means drilling and tapping the block. Swap timing covers because the cam sensor is on the front of the engine. Several other small odds and ends to make an older engine work in the newer vehicle.
The 2006 computer would never work, it for one will never plug into the harness nor could it ever control anything on the engine or the 6 speed transmission.
Honestly you should never even attempt to do this type of thing.
So either remove and rebuild the 6.2 or find another 6.2 or GEN 4 6.0 to make your life easier. Depending on how "hurt" the motor is, they do not cost a gajillion dollars to rebuild.
