got it installed! sensor isn't plugged in yet, so the gauge must default to 14.8 now to wait tomorrow out and get my new y pipe and the wideband installed! I took quite a few hints from this write up on LS1tech: Installing NNBS Wideband HOWEVER there was an error in the write up about where he went into for a switched power source. http://www.ls1truck.com/upload/files...5127_thumb.jpg where he has it connected in this picture is CONSTANT power, you need the pin directly above it, that's switched with ignition. maybe my truck is different but just goes to show, always use your DVOM and double check things before you just plug wires into places. I also made sure to fuse mine with 10A, basically gauge power wire goes to one side of the fuse, then from the other side of the fuse to the power prong now hurry up Friday :bang::bang: |
i had mine installed below the a/c switch in that little square hole that didnt have much use for anything else.

You can use GM Part #20791502 Connector (about 15 bucks) in that MBEC slot for a clean install. You will also have to use a couple of 280 female terminals (about .20 each) as that connector only comes with one ground wire attached. Mouser is a contact for those terminals. Mousers part # is 829-15304711. Or if you have a buddy at a GM dealer you could get a couple from their shop supplies. They will not sell them (terminals) across the parts counter at GM dealers around here. Also note that RAP is only 300milliamps so you will need to use it to drive a relay for all but the smallest devices.
