You will probably need to start from scratch on the 11 ecm, not to sure about how it will play with the rest of the modules, especially the BCM if you want TUTD function. Your are correct about change the Ecm vs tcm physically, but software wise it would be much easier to drop the tranny pan and charge to an 07 or 08 tcm. Then you can keep your old ecm with its current tune and all the other modules in the truck will play nice. If you wanto pm me and I can talk you through the chages.

Default TCM connectors

Are the TCM connectors the same for 2010/2012 to the 2008 style if they need to be changed? I'm looking onto this swap also and found a 2010 trans for a good price.

Default Tcm connectors

you’re asking if a 2008 4l60e tcm connector is the same as a 2010+ 6l80e ?

Default 2007 Silverado 4l60e to 6L80E

I am in the middle of this swap and have hit a snag. I have a 2007 Silverado Regular Cab Short Bed That originally came 4.8/4l60. I already had my 6.2 in it and now I’m swapping the 6l80 in. The hard parts are no problem at all I own a Performance & Fabrication Shop and we do a good bit of L’s swap work. My problem is the harness. I have a brand new harness from GM part number 20822436 and the large oval connector under the fuse box is larger than mine. Everything else is the same, changed fuel pump connector from 10pin to 8pin. I’m stumped. I don’t mind ordering another harness but wanna make sure it’s right. Hers is a picture of said connector on new harness. Mine is smaller than this one and there is 15 wires in mine vs 32 in the new harness.
