Default Need some advice, fix or just trade it in?

Hey guys, looking for some advice here.

Here are some pics, this is #6 intake and exhaust lifters and #6 spark plug. I'm sure this also will mean the cam is now junk.

I would delete the DOD bullshit, and throw a mild cam in it. Something with low lift so you can get away with running LS6 springs, this is your DD no need to get crazy with it. Thats why you have the SSS.

I agree with the above statements. Your gonna have to do something with it anyways. It sucks but how much could a dod kit and an ls6 type cam setup with lifters and springs cost? Probably alot less than the hit a dealer would slap ya with if you traded it with a bad engine. G.L...

I agree with this... I think fixing it with some fun parts would be cheaper than the hit you take trading it in with problems. Not to mention you are already more than halfway there, and you need to bolt it all back together to trade it in anyway... no??

ls7 lifters 100
pushrods - i think i have some TSP or thunder 7.400 ill let go for $80
used cam 200
think i have some LS6 springs id let go for 50 - or just step up to a comp spring for 120.
gaskets are less than 100 for the pair.

dropping the pan and cleaning everythign out is free.

done.

oh, go ahead and replace your lifter trays. i think they are about $3 per tray.

what engine is this? a junkyard 4.8 can be had for 300 and a 5.3 for 4 or 500.

A gen IV 5.3 for $4-500? I wish. Hell, here I can get $400 for the 243/799 heads themselves.
