McGaughy's or Belltech?
 

Sorry fellas, been searching with minimal results, no pics, and too many NNBS titles. Any help and or pics would be greatly appreciated.

I've been wanted to drop my 08 EC since I bought it. But still don't know what kit to use. I'm wanting a 2/4 to keep ride comfort (DD), and I'm leaning more towards a kit with rear leafs like McGaughy's. Are there any issues with this kit ride/fitment wise? Can I use stock shocks in the rear?

Any input on a Belltech flip kit instead? What's the difference in ride between this and leafs? I've heard that with the flip kit I can add more drop later.

I'm not sure about your application but I'm really happy with every Belltech part I've ever bought.

if you're going to do spindles, do McGaughy's spindles. Belltech's aren't the best IMO, you have to cut the lower ball joint stud. Other than that my rear end is dropped with Belltech and Im about to receive some Belltech springs. They're a good company :thumb:

I have the 2/4 McGaughy's kit (spindles, leaf packs and OEM shocks) The truck rides very close to stock and am very happy with it.

I have had both brands of spindles on gmt 900's and MCG is a better design.
front shocks are ok for 2 " drop.
can't speak for the leafs but if you are going with MCG spindle get the package.
a 2" shackle in the rear and removing the spacer block under the spring with give you
2-3, easier and cheaper than changing springs. sits with a slight rake
stylin has part #'s for mcg spindles and shackles separate

They ALL require that if you wanna run 17" wheels

I dont like the MCG spindles, my buddy had one crack when he was tightening a bolt. His upper balljoint wouldnt seat properly either on that same spindle. You also have to trim the brake dust shield for some reason and other brands you dont.

Belltech are clones of MCG, just come power coated as far as i know.

BellTech. Take that advice from some one with the McGaughy's kit on a 08. BellTech wasn't available for these trucks when I lowered mine, and I wish I would have waited. The front springs settled to a point the truck will not align, and I have less that 7k on the kit. I have the BellTech pro springs sitting here just waiting to get installed.
