Max HP/TQ stock front end on 4x4 can handle?
topic...just realized i cant get too crazy with new mods if my front end won't handle it...
Guy in new mexico has run over 1000hp through it, stock transfer case and front end.

as long as both wheels are on the ground, you shouldnt have a problem with it.
What about tranny? I think i heard safe til 450whp somewhere.
I have seen a 60e eat shit with less than 450 at the wheels...best to upgrade.
Shouldnt that be the 6l80e?
Done tons of 4x4 launches at the track with my truck and not a single issue yet. Will have even more power to it here once the truck is wrapped up this week. As long as you are in a straight line everything should be ok.
My 6l80e has also held up great so far |

If its for truck in sig then the 6l80 is good for more than 450rwhp for sure WITH THE RIGHT TUNING!! Your truck has a 8.25" front diff and will hold up fine as long as you keep both wheels on the ground as stated! Some limiting straps work wonders for 4x4 launches!! The front diffs that I have seen break were due to off roading in low and the gears didn't break the HOUSING did! They seem to crack at mounting points. I plan on a 2500 9.25" front diff swap as I want the ability to lock the front end for off road purposes:)
