Default Help on picking a cam

I goin with a cam and stall in Feb. Goin with a Circle D 2800-3200 stall. Now i am going to have stock heads and manifolds. I am having the cats removed. I am not sure how soon i will be doing heads or if i will at all. I will be doing long tubes once they come down in price if they ever do. The cam I was thinking was a TSP custom grind 218/224 563/568 XE 112+4 LSA. My buddy has the TR 220 cam and it is a nice cam was just thinking of trying something differant. Wondering if you think that is to big for stock heads/manifolds or what you guys think will be a very nice cam to move my 4WD heavy monster.

that seems like a good choice , you can always go with a 224/224 581/581 - 112

its gonna be pretty bad with you having a decent sized cam with no headers to get all that exhaust out ... at first i read the post u said headers we're TOO EXPENSIVE then ir ead that you have a 4x4 and i was like .... oh i get it now .. lol

sounds like a good set up tho , GL

212/218 would be good but i know I will put it in and want to go bigger. Now i am curious what will be my positives and negatives with having a split like a 218/224 vs a 224/224?

224 is to big for that truck IMO you have alot of weight to move, and you wont have the low end you need to get the beast moving off the line
