headers and plug wire question

I'm going to change plugs and plug wires. on my 08 denali 6.2

I have been running OBX LT headers for about 2 years. One of the plug wires rest on the primary #3 I think. So I put heat sleeves on all the wires I haven't had a problem. Since I'm changing plug wires I would like to get some that will clear the headers better.

I though I read somewhere that a guy with OBX headers used LS2 plug wires to clear his OBX headers but I can't find that thread any more. But when I look at the pictures on summit the plug wire look like the same wire as the stock ones I have now.

Can anybody confirm this.

I'm going to give these a try: Taylor 409 Race-Fit Pro Race Spark Plug Wire 79614 | eBay

With my Speed Engineering headers, I did the same as you with DEI heat sleeves and actually had to trim down the plug boot on the 2nd plug back on the drivers side and haven't had any problems. Just one of those little things you never stop thinking about until it's changed, lol.

Years back I had a set and made a small stainless strap that bolted to the head and held the wire off the pipe. Worked like a charm, I'll see if I have any old pics.

Are those Taylor wire pretty good quality that might work for me. I know I can do MSD but a lot of people seem to have problems with them.

Just got the Taylor 409's in red for mine. Headers will be going on in the next few weeks so I can report back on the fit.

I got my wires installed the other day, ended up shortening the 2nd wire back on the drivers side and the one by the firewall on the passenger side to gain better clearence.

If you want shorter wires the Ls1 wires are like 8". That's what I have on mine, but I have the LS9 valve covers that the coils mount directly to

I would advise to go with the "LS Car" wires Taylor also offers. But I'm happy with how my setup turned out.

sound good

LS1 motor came in what year.

You know if you go to the parts store and say I want some LS1 plug wires. They are going to look at you like your stupid.
