Default gmt900 9.25 ifs swap

tldr: it fits, needs an ear cut off and driveshaft shortened, working on cv axles.

my truck: 2012 yukon 6.2/awd, 9.5 sf swapped, cam/couple bolt ons/lowered.
I recently had the gears changed out to 4.10/4.11. truck had a little bit of vibration, noticeable at 70+mph - before with the 3.42s had no issues.
Started out with alignment/balance/tire rotation- didnt help, pulled rear driveshaft and had it rebuilt and balanced - guy said it pretty spot on before he did anything to it, said he doubted this also was my issue, it wasnt.
After going over everything again it looked like the vibration was from the rear pinion angle turning up so high that it was rubbing on a bracket (for the charcoal canister). pinion angle wasnt bad but with being lowered it also pulls the rear end forward. so i ordered the spohn adjustable bars to correct the angle and center the rear back in the wheel wells.
Between waiting on parts the front end starting puking all its fluid on the underside of truck, wasnt from the overflow tube/couldnt really tell from where but it covered everything from the side of the engine back. got around to pulling the front diff today and the pinion is basically seized up and leaking from there also. Installer messed up? mismatch gears with awd? dunno.

Soo I had the 9.25ifs here with factory 4.10s from a 2010+ 3500 truck, i grabbed the cheapest one i could find a few months ago with plans to put it in and just swap the rear gear out. I went thru and measured everything up and it was pretty close - all mounts within a 1/2" or so and on rubber bushings, about an inch wider axle to axle mount. daily got totaled and couldnt have it down for long so i had the 8.25 geared at the time and it got put on the back burner.
didnt want to put much(any) money into the axle until i knew i could actually use it, and didnt know until it was put in place.
the bad: I havent been able to find any traction aids aside from the lunchbox style locker for this year 9.25ifs- which im not interested in, axle has the CAD not on my awd i was playing around with the actuator on the bench and managed to extend the plunger and couldnt figure out how to retract it so its just always enagaged at this point. would be nice to find someone to build a one piece shaft for the passenger side but ill see how it works out. new passenger side tube is only hundred bux or so i may grab it and clean everything else. and ive got a few ideas for the axles waiting to get a final measurement, its not going in for a few days - have some atomic mounts to swap, and a new converter to go in.

Now THAT is very interesting....Does anyone make an E-Locker or is there a True Trac for that 9.25?? I would not want one of the lunchbox style lockers either...

I don't think that matters, with an "old" carrier locker and gear set, I think you're fine. I'll try to find that info for you

? sure if you find something.id love to know.

I'm not really familiar with the either this or the older one, but you cant physically put an older carrier into the housing. there are no bearing caps or anything, the carrier is retained/adjusted thru each side.
