I can relate, when I got my last new truck, I got a 2000 K3500 SRW in OBS/Classic body style so I could get another proven 350 (that is not drive by wire either) in a work truck before they were retired. I have owned them for nearly 30 years now and I lament their passing too.

You can't live in the past, the SBC and BBC were excellent engines, but with the gen III and IV small blocks gm has raised the bar big time. All you have to do is do some engine work on the gen III's and you will see how good these motors are made (over built).

Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Will be parting with it soon to buy my wife a Caddy SRX with the 4.6 N* and it won't be easy....

I do not plan to part with my burb for at least another 5 or 6 years (if even then) when my twin daughters finish college. We got it when they were 9 months old and they have no memory of not ever having it. It has been a excellant vehical and very trouble free too and still tracks straight as a arrow on the highway while getting 17 to 18 mpg on a long trip and factor in it 40 gallon tank it can really go the distance between fuel stops. Last several years I have been storing it every winter in the barn to keep it from the salt and plan to park it this year sometime in december again. It has not really been a primary vehical for several years except for family traveling.
