They're very sturdy and they're not a "baffled" muffler by any means.

Looks pretty straight through if you ask me........... Especially for a chambered muffler, wouldn't you say?

edit: i'm a little slow, just googled aerochamber. they look like a great choice as well.
no, it looks like this, from Summit

If your referring to their non-baffled straight through ones then yeah, agreed. But they aren't all straight through, at least not the ones I had 4-5 years ago and unlike some of the better baffled mufflers, those aren't sturdy at all.

Edit: I just checked my old stuff and what I had was three(they kept replacing them under warranty) flowmaster 2/3 chambered muffleres 4-5 years ago and they all had baffles break off. No exception.

They don't make a baffled muffler except the "turbo" style muffler which is no different than a Cherrybomb turbo or similar. Those are lame. The Aerochamber and Maxflow are both great mufflers with the Aerochamber being chambered and the Maxflow being straight through like a Borla/Magnaflow.

Oh and that isn't a chambered muffler, that's a straight through design. If it was chambered you couldn't see through it.

Copied this off another forum:
"A Flowmaster muffler is a baffle system muffler. Basically, the muffler is comprised of baffles throughout the air's flow area. These baffles make the air bounce, twist and turn around in the muffler to cause some sound cancelation. However, if you know anything about air you will know air does not like to bounce, twist and turn around barriers (ie the baffles).

A Magnaflow Muffler is a packed system muffler. Basically, the muffler has a straight through tube from inlet to outlet that is prefrorated around the tubes circumference. The remaining area of the muffler is "packed" with fiberglass material. As the air travels through the tube inside the magnaflow muffler, some of the sound is absorbed by the fiberglass material. However, this design allows the air to flow freely without bending and twisting around barriers (ie the baffles like in a flowmaster)."

If its chambered, then it's baffled.

Well obviously you know more than me and the manufacturer huh? Flowmaster is baffled. Turbo style mufflers are baffled. Spintechs are baffled. Dynomax VT are a hybrid and the Superturbo is baffled. Edelbrock SDT are baffled. Magnaflow XL are baffled. The Aerochamber and my design are the only chambered mufflers that are not baffled. Yes I have a chambered muffler design that is in the prototype/testing phase. You don't have to have baffles to be chambered. A chamber is exactly that, a hollow chamber, usually tuned for sound tone and level.

And on a side note, you obviously didn't look very hard at the picture I posted. It's of a 3" center/center Aerochamber looking through the inlet side.

Aerochamber +1

FWIW the Flowmasters got a REAL bad rap in the third/fourth gen scene because of their attempts to make a good performing CROSSFLOW muff. These are the ones that really robbed hp. Ive dynoed single in/out 3 chamber flows and aerochambers on the same engine within 3hp of each others so....

Flows are not that bad performing but the drone....
