I used the DJM 3" drop kit to get mine level (NNBS EC 4x4 Z71). That kit uses a shackle and a different U bolt setup that removes the block. I sat just a little too low in back. (I did not lower the front, all the kits say 2wd only). Anyway I added the block back in and it was just right. I was more comfortable with the factory axel hardware.
I'd like to see pics of your truck, cause I have been going back and forth on mine debating to drop the rear or lift the front to level it out. I'm not going to lift or drop it, just want to level it one way or the other, but having a difficult time deciding which way to do it.
