Front diff is super easy to pull on these trucks, i can have them on the ground in 20mins or less. Ive done it 3 times now with this 08 burban i picked up for the wife.

All of the truck motors ive been into have always been the tapered pickup tube(green oring).

Prefill the oil filter and start it up, let it run for 15 seconds and see if oil pressure comes up. If you still dont at 15 seconds then obviously your gonna have to dig into it and figure out your issue. Is this a aluminum block? If so what oil pump you running? A older (06 and older) standard 5.3 oil pump doesnt work very well with the 07 and newer aluminum engines like in this burban, 35ish psi on a cold start and like 13psi at a warm idle is what i found out the hard way.

I didnt see a post back about what valley cover your running, if the oil ports arent plugged for the afm system down in the valley your going to end up with low or no oil pressure.

The correct DOD delete kit was used. I have no idea what pump the machine shop used. It is an aluminum block lc9. The truck will not run for more then 1 or 2 seconds then dies and backfires loud as a gun shot.

If the barbell is missing would I have been able to build pressure while pre oiling? With a hand pump I can get 10psi.

If the barbell is missing you will get no oil pressure...I've found this out the hard way when I had an engine rebuilt. Also if the transmission is already installed, then you will have to pull it in order to get to the back cover of the engine. There will be a hole for the barbell...Nothing like a cheap $7 part to cause a fun problem.

I am just going to have to check. Trying to decide what is easier pulling the engine or the transmission/transfer case.

Thanks for the tip on the plug glad I did not pull the engine or trans. Now I have to figure out why I have no oil pressure. Barbell present, pickup tube o ring good. What else can you guys think of open to all suggestions. Thanks.

I appreciate it. It's worth checking and making sure there is not something else that needs plugging. Thanks
