Drums to disc NNBS.
Any good threads on this? Had a scary incident on the Houston streets this weekend while running someone and the truck just could not stop fast enough and I had to veer off onto an off ramp to avoid rear ending someone. Is a new master cylinder need? I hear the drum require a different pressure than the discs. I want to do this right ya know? (Also, the truck is boosted) I plan on doing the hydro-boost swap one day but i don't think that was the cause of this, being off the throttle and all.

Actually I believe the bias is different between the masters.
There are different Bore size available. I have seen first hand on a drum to disc conversion where the rear pads wear faster and even lock up the rear under hard braking. |

So could I just grab a master cylinder off a x4 disc truck??

The master cykinder and hydraulic booster for an 08 2500 is a direct swap for the brake lines on the 1500s when doing a hydoboost swap. Other than needing to open up the hole on the firewall up alittle bit and the pedal off the 2500 along with custom hoses mechanically its all direct bolt in. Thats what i have on mine.

I tested it almost right away and it seems to stop alot better. Pedal is alot higher and firmer. I can hold about 8 psi at 3k on 2 step where before the drums would let go at about 5psi@2800 rpm. The drums did have like 117k miles on them though.
