direct swap engines for 2008 5.3 silverado
 

I've searched and am confused. I know it's not like the early 2000s where you went and bought a junk yard 6.0 and threw it in. what will direct swap in to a 2008 5.3 truck these days?

2007.5 up LY6, L76 6.0
2007.5 6.2 any RPO code

Pain in the ass far as I know. Better stay within the same GENERATION motors on the NNBS's.

Just saw a old post on a 5.3 to 6.2 swap. Is there a lot of hoops to jump through to swap a 2008 GMC 5.3 1500 to 6.2?

Other than tuning, not really.

A gen 4 motor swapping with another gen 4 motor is pretty much straight forward.
