Default CV halfshaft replacement/upgrade?

Both driver and passenger side cv boots are torn on my truck. I am about to hit 80,000 miles and figure I will just replace the half shaft. Is there any upgrade I should consider? I think I will be close to 700+rwhp soon or is the local parts store replacements good enough? Thanks

While it is a bit cheaper to do half shafts, it is also a lot more work and messy too....for a few more dollars it is way simpler just to replace the whole thing, but that is just my opinion, you can do half shafts if you like hanging out in the garage all day.

That's probably what I am going to do. Was hoping to find a performance axle but no luck.

Changing the driver side cv axle half shaft took me 2 and a half hours and I an no pro. It is in no way messy. And changing the whole front axle is gonna be a hell of a lot more money than 2 $90 half shafts complete with boots.

That’s not what he meant. He meant it’s messier to rebuild the cv/cv boots with new shafts than to replace the entire half shaft/cv axle assembly
