Carrier bearings shot at 95k
Been hearing a little noise especially near the wall in the interstate. Was surprised to see one of the carrier bearings shot at 95,000 miles. Mechanic said the dope was clean and not burnt. 2007.5 ccsb slt 4.10's with the factory posi unit. As far as I know the dope has never been changed. Bought the truck with 62,000 on it but it looked very well cared for. Just crap bearings or what?

Seen it happen a few times, they make so many of these truck that some parts are bound to fail quicker than others.
We had like a 2008-2009 in the shop once and the bearings were so bad and the G80 was doing something crazy that it started to eat at the center pin holding everything together. Needless to say it need a full rebuild on a 100k mile truck.
