coming from the road race side of things, i can safely say the brakes on the 6.2 trucks need work.

i might be asking too much when i want floating front rotors, 6 piston calipers, caliper relocation brackets, stainless lines, and hawk hp+ pads.

reality being, stainless lines, different pads.

stock sucks

I would like some bigger rotors and better calipers too, although my truck stops much better than my '09 with the rear drums.

I used a SSBC electric pump kit on my Camaro. It works great. Was alot easier than switcing to hydroboost. Since you are already this far along can't you just relocate the sensor to the engine for the vacum source?

Here is the lowesat cost aftermarket brake kit I have seen. Baer Brakes also makes a rear kit as well. Summit has the rear listed without parking brake provision but I believe that may not be correct. Baer also makes front and rear rotor kits with larger one piece rotors and the abutment brackets.

Got my truck back yesterday after having the heads/cam done. No vacuum issues, thank god. I would still like a CTS-V/Camaro/Z06 sized caliper brake set for our trucks though.

I AGREE, most options I found that look like those are in the $3k range per axle... $6k set. I have the Baer's in the link below on my Vette and they also make them in a kit to fit our trucks.

Well after driving a bit more I think a brake upgrade would be nice. While my vacuum is fine, the engine just makes so much power now even at 1000 and below compared to stock it takes effort to keep it stopped. Every other modified vehicle I've had was a manual so I never had to deal with this before, it is kind of annoying having to apply so much more force to the brake as you get to 1000 and below.

So is it just that a better rotor/pad combo can suffice or a complete hydro conversion for a head/cam swap is needed? hell I was happy as hell going from the brakes from an OBS to the NNBS, but if you bolt on guys are even saying its lacking, guess I too will start sourcing parts. I was about a week away from doing a hydro conversion on my 98 but truck went bye bye... Though I have a buddy with a 95 stang and a 466 BBF in it and he had to do the hydroboost because the valve covers wouldnt fit... and the booster is from a cobra and its got drilled/slotted rotors and he complains that he has to keep a fair amount of force on the brake pedal at idle and ive driven it, and I think his issue is the fatty motor and the rear brakes aren't proportioned well enough... now for swapping the booster from vac to hydro, is is able to retain stock master or is a new master needed? I kinda hope that swapping to stainless lines and better rotor/pad combo will be enough for me... i have bad luck with bleeding brakes and master cylinders...

You don't need better brakes, you need a little looser torque conveter. With your cam I bet you're idling a couple hundred rpm higher.

What are your cam specs and idle rpm?
