Default AWD guys, is my truck acting normal?

2008 sierra denali AWD. 175k mile 6.2 w/ LS9 cam, 1 3/4 headers, catless y pipe and cat back exhaust. I'm concerned because it won't spin the tires on dry pavement unless turning. Is that normal? I've read stuff about folks being able to spin them off the line but my truck is lazy until about 3k rpm. Was that way stock too. Thoughts?

LS9 cam is the problem. They lose like 80lb/ft off idle compared to stock. Put a better cam in with a tighter LSA and party on.

Dont mash the gas while turning. Good way to break **** up front too.

You've lost your bottom end, don't think even a high stall converter would help, but a new camshaft certainly will. Have you made any passes with this truck at the track?

Ya that cam is hurting bottom end. Lots of way better choices out there.

I used to have a 2003 Yukon Denali back in the day, had 275/55/20's on it, and that truck would light the tires up from a dead stop. It was hilarious..so much drama...so little go.

I haven't made any passes with the truck since the cam but I know it ran a very consistent 14.74@ 94 mph before. I was told the ls9 cam gave up minimal power below 3k which is why I went with it but have always wondered. I do like the amount of power it makes up high though! If I was to swap cams again, what size should I be looking at?

Also, the truck is not any more lazy down low then it was stock. It has been extremely disappointing below 3k since the day I bought it!

Depends on your goals and exactly what mods you have.

Right now the truck is ls6 valve springs, ls9 cam, ls7 lifters, 1 3/4 longtubes, mandrel bent off road y pipe, dynomax ultra flow muffler and dumbed before the axle. If I was to change cams it would be to gain power from where the stock converter flashes (2k rpm) until about 6200rpm(where the truck shifts)
