Maybe.... I have a 2014 Impala and it seems okay. After my previous Toyota experience they are nixed for anything. I did buy my ex a 2012 Maxima...... was a nice car for a base model SV..... had heated leather.... heated steering wheel..... Bose Stereo.... etc. Whereas my LT level Impala has absolutely none of that I have to buy an LTZ to get it. I bought this Impala because it was a cheap hail damaged blow out at a dealer with low miles..... One thing against the Nissan was that CVT...... just made the car feel like a total sack. It still went okay but I think a proper 6 or however many speed auto would be better.

There are some bad apples in every brand, but there's no denying there are more bad apples amongst the domestic brands. It's interesting when one person has a bad experience with a car, they completely write off the entire brand.

I find these sorts of reports absolutely hilarious though:

Meh.... that's not the way to look at it. For one, customer service plays a pretty heavy hand too, and Toyota out here is a complete pain in the *** to deal with. They have no close by dealerships and the few that exist are run by complete retards so in essense its stupid to even be looking at them...... And yep...... when your trucks a pile of ****.... you are a bunch of clowns to deal with.... you are a write off. Not to mention their vehicles are nearly as boring and ugly as GM anyway. I won't buy any scrap metal from Toyota or Chrysler.... ever... and honestly probably never a new GM vehicle again either as my 2015 Silverado was my first and last new GM purchase.

I don't need junk that makes me zero dollars and spends enough time down to start costing me money. Hence why I run my miled out rusty old 05 as my company work truck...... hell one of these days I will restore the damn thing and just drive it forever I guess. Not that I really care..... the old 05 will gross me a million dollars in charge out one of these days..

There are so many nbs trucks driving here its crazy.

In the absence of rust, they go forever.

Hell I'm driving an 02 tahoe and is very hard to justify the cost on a new GM

my 02 hd has been a tank. literally. it was stolen and used for transporting illegals across the border. they were cutting through fields and blowing through ranch gates with it. not a single problem with it yet.

Default Most ALL manufacturers use the same parts suppliers

Most all of the complaints I've read on here can be attributed to suppliers of the parts. All of the manufacturers use the same outsourced suppliers. Remember Takata air bags?
QUOTE=lxcoupe;5399785]Anyone who has the opportunity to purchase a new Japanese car vs a new GM will be shocked at the build quality, ergonomics, and feel/ confidence. I will ALWAYS love my GM's as toys, hell I own 5 of them, but the stress-free feeling I get from my Toyota on a daily basis is PRICELESS. I love knowing my HVAC bulbs aren't going to go out randomly, my blower motor resistor isn't gonna short out, my rear end isn't going to whine, my doors will close properly, my motor won't tick and lose a lifter, my water pump won't leak, and the Toyota will last for 300,000 miles!!! Granted, my 05 RCSB has had none of these problems, but dear God my 99 Tahoe... everything that could go wrong, did lol. Fockin love my Toyota, but anything with an LSX motor is addicting so GM will always get my vote for a toy. I will say this though, the 99-07c Silverado/ Sierra platform is one of the best trucks GM has ever made from a mechanical standpoint. But there's no denying that any GM product will nickle and dime you to death even if it doesn't have a catastrophic failure.[/QUOTE]

This was a fun read. My 02 HD is still a tank. paint is fading on the hood and roof, and the headlights are **** compared to new cars; but it has never left me stranded. 280,000 miles and still rocking the OEM transmission fluid. I've considered giving it a fresh coat of paint, and pulling the top end to clean injectors, lap valves, replace springs and slap in new lifters...buy why fix it if it isn't broken?

Love old threads..

Out of all the trucks i own 2000 silverado 1500, 2004 Silverado 2500HD, 2003 Tahoe Z71, 1992 C1500, and a 1953 GMC 3400.
They all have 350,000+ miles except the '53. the odometer stopped working 30 years ago at 77,4xx miles..
I wouldn't buy anything low mileage or new.
Ive been doing DOD deletes and engine rebuilds on these newer trucks along with the 6L80E and 6L90E rebuilds. Got so much work its hard to keep up but it pays really good.
Havent had any GMT900 trucks in with over 200k miles and not had a transmission or engine replaced.
But the amount of GMT800s with 400,000+ miles is quite impressive.

I'd give anything to have my 05 2wd RCSB or my 07 Classic 4wd RCSB. Those were the best. Hell 06 2500 6.0, 99 Ecsb too. Wth did I talk myself into? Good Lord if I follow through I'm gonna have 85-90k tied up in the 14 and 16 and for what? Newer? Wish I had the 05 or 07 back. God....
