No way of knowing for sure unless you want to pay a testing lab, LOL!

Just run it down below 1/4 tank and fill-er-up with 93.

Picked it up Monday morning, had a 1/4-tank of who-knows-what, grabbed the salesman and headed to the local gas station to fill her up with premium. Best we have out here is 91 and that's what I filled her up with the wife didn't bring the camera out so no pics until I get home next week, but she looks really good; I'm satisfied. I need to figure out how to reset all the calculations on fuel mileage and everything; it's telling me my average fuel economy was 10.7mpg, but that's because it's gradually moving up from the 8mpg it had when I picked it up from the dealer in the morning. I'm going to reset my trip odometer when I fill it next time so I can get a more accurate picture of my fuel mileage. I averaged 14-15 in my Cherokee, so anywhere in that range or better will be perfectly acceptable. However, I have NHT, the leveling kit, and 33" tires, so we will see what I come up with. At least it has a longer range than the Cherokee, with the larger fuel tank.

when you want to clear something... Just hold the check mark and it will clear whatever your reading. Whether it be miles or mpg or gallons

So far she's averaging from 11.5-12.5mpg on the display, 2-3 mpg lower than I was planning for. I'm hoping that gets a little better as the miles add up, and after I run the tank to empty and fill it again. I did add a leveling kit and 285-70/17s, but I was planning for 14-15mpg average, not 11-12 LOL. That's about 90 miles less range per tank than I had been expecting, so hopefully I'm due for some improvement. If not, looks like I might be looking into some modifications pretty shortly here.

Thanks for the info, definetly interested to see if it picks up or not. Your running 93 in it I take it ?

We don't have 93 octane out here. Our premium fuel is 91, so that's what I'm running. 91 octane is the minimum recommended fuel, since not every area gets 93.

Do you know if the 5.3's come tuned for 87 or 91-93? I have an 09 with the 6l80e and my mileage sucks! Plans are in the near future for a black bear tune

I can almost garuntee you they are tuned from the factory for 87 octane, on the flex fuel equiped trucks im sure there is a timing table for E85 (Hence the HP rating of 330hp).
