Mine had a bad casting on the water pump. I think the pump was changed at 6K miles. Could only smell coolant on a hot day. How much coolant do you have to add ?

it's not leaking, so that more or less tells me it's not an external leak of any kind. on average half of the coolant jug is gone. {factory fill point on passenger side}.

i really don't beat on it. mainly because im sitting in traffic.

you hammer on yours as much as i hammer on mine. just bothers me. need to pull the plugs and pressurize the system and see if anything dribbles out

Could it be like the waterpump gaskets on my old 5.3? They seeped just enough to make me add coolant but never any drips or smell really of antifreeze under the hood.

Area, the company I do contract work for had a leak near the firewall that it took 6 months to find, you might have the same thing. This was a 6.6 tho...

i'll just make a phone call and see what can be done. id prefer not to take it in for warranty crap, but it's nearing the 3/4 mark of it's powertrain and has been notated about the coolant use since the first oil change.
