Temps were 70-80*.

I'm fully aware of how the factory recommends 91+. It will pull timing at high loads on lower octane fuel, but I haven't seen it pull much, if anything, at cruise loads. Highway mileage is primarily dictated by what is happening at cruise.

Have you data logged your trucks timing at all? I've spent quite a bit of time doing it, since I've had it. I've been into tuning vehicles for over a decade. I normally run E85 (very abundant here, but harder to find where I was headed), but wanted to get some data for running 87. A friend of mine wants his tune optimized for 87, since he puts so many miles on. It was easier for me to just scan my identical truck.

so when you tuned yours did you pic up any MPG? Im awaiting my BB tune and was hoping to get 1-2mpg highway more with the tune and the full exhaust I just put on. Sound feesable?

I only noticed an increase in mileage on E85, since GM has the timing so low in the ethanol tables. I didn't see anything noticeable with gasoline.

I got a comparison with preheaders and catback to post headers and catback. I got 19.0 MPG at 65mph with my truck with stock exhaust. With the new ARH 1 7/8" headers with cats and 4 inch mandrel exhaust I got 20.1 mpg on my last road trip at the same 65mph. Both trips were with A/C off and windows up and roughly same tempature/ humidity and elevation.

You must have a higher level of self-restraint than I do ...

it was a while before I saw some really nice mileage gains due to having too much fun, but I was goofing around a lot before so there was still an improvement.
