The L76 in the trucks had VVT, but the ones in the G8 did not.

I just got the same combination of codes as pointed out before: P0300 and P150A

I did just rebuild my transmission and put it back in last week. It does have a 3000 stall. So that may all be part of it. I just wanted to see what others have done when getting these two codes at the same time.

Yeah both had dod/afm but the g8 L76 did not have vvt

If the OP still has his 4.8, I think it has most of what he needs to delete the DOD and the VVT from his L76. I could be wrong, but I don't think the 2008 4.8 had either one.

Throw a nice cam in at the same time.

2008 4.8 has neither, so your logic plays well
