2013 GMC what will/will not void warranty?

Just purchased a brand new 2013 GMC 5.3/6l80.

Looking to add a few mods to wake it up and maybe try to increase MPG a little.

Would intake, exhaust void the warranty?

Im pretty sure a tune would void the warranty but If I install a tune, hand help or custom would they be able to tell if I uninstall it when/if I take it in for service?

Tunes are warranty killers, cat backs are usually fine and CAI kits are hit or miss. Really depends on your dealer and how they feel about that type stuff.

I have an Airraid Jr with a cut up stock air box and a Magnaflow cat back and haven't had any issues. I would love a tune but I am going to wait out the warranty since I don't have the disposable income I once did to cover a valvetrain or trans nightmare if the dealer shuts me down.

I know tunes will kill the warranty but if you uninstall it and return it to stock tune will they be able to tell?

Not sure if the trucks went to the new global platform, the Camaros and Vettes can be seen and my 2011 truck can't be as far as I know, but by 2013 the trucks may have the number of reflashes stored... I would get with one of the many tuners on here and get their insight.

After a little research it seems as if I swap a new PCM with a tune and if I ever have to go in for warranty issues just swap the stock PCM back in and there will be no trace of tuning.

Intake/exhaust is fine, these aint cause any engine problem at all.

I have read people had no issue put back to stock tune.
If you worry about warranty, you shouldnt mess around with it. Just my two cents.

No tuning is recorded on the truck's currently. Only the camaro and vette iirc.

Magnuson

Do some reading. My truck is bagged and still under warranty.

It really comes down to the dealer, and especially what your issue is.

when I worked for ford back in 08 there was a F350 diesel that came in and the guy had put on some 38" swampers and he needed a new transmission, was under 50,000KM and they wouldnt honour the warranty "cause of after market tires"

when I worked at chev in 09 a cadillac srx came in for I believe a check engine light and it must of been bcm related cause they wouldnt honour the warranty over a stereo being installed

so I think if the tech is lazy or its something that'll be "tough" to fix they'll dig for excuses.

my alcohol sensor faulted and threw a check engine light, I had shorty headers (those are gone), cat-back, CAI and gay MSD wires (those are long gone too haha, I was dumb) but they still fixed the sensor under warranty
