2008 Sierra Denali Mods

Hey guys, first time dealing with a gen4 motor in these newer trucks! Buddy of mine we did Cam heads exhaust for his 06 4.8 just got a 08 6.2 AWD Denali truck and whats to do performance to it!

Truck has 79k and he got it for just over 20k!

I know this will very but what cam works for these new Gen4 motors? Gen3 loves high lift cams, but these Gen4s are the same? What power results is he looking at?
Thanks!

I've got the same truck, but with nearly double the miles. I added the AirAid MIT and AFE dry filter, plus a Black Bear AutoCal tune. I also have waiting to be installed a custom grind cam from Texas Speed. I don't remember the specs, but it's made for stock converter and so that it doesn't lose any low end for towing. It's made to retain the VVT as well. A buddy of mine put the same cam in his 6.2 Silverado, and he ran 14s (even with horrible launches) while my best was 14.78 in the quarter. Only differences for his truck and mine is the cam, he's running K&N intake, he's got Kooks long tubes with catted Y and Magnaflow exhaust versus mine still stock, and he's got a tune from Ed Wright.

Cam specs are 214/228 .600/.600 114+4
