Default 2007 GMC Sierra SLT Feels Loose

I just acquired a 2007 GMC Sierra SLT with the 5.3 engine. The truck has 170,000 miles and the drivetrain feels ok except for a little surging of the motor when cold? I had the suspension and drivetrain checked out by my local mechanic and he said everything looked good. The main question I have is that the truck feels a little worn out with regards to the solidness of the body/ride (no rust anywhere). This was a one owner vehicle that I know who maintained the vehicle by the book. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I could tighten it up? New struts/shocks, braces, etc? Also, like mentioned earlier, the engine surges when first driving on a cold startup. Final thing, I would like to replace the original steering wheel but the part has been discontinued. Looking for part #15917939. thank you

I doubt the motor mounts have been replaced, those are a common failure on those truck. They suck to get at sometimes.

New struts wouldn't hurt, up to you on that one. If the local mechanic didn't see any abnormal wear on bushings and control arms, hard to say that you should replace them.

Clean the MAF and throttle body for the cold surge problem, see if it helps.

Use ebay or car-part.com to find the steering wheel. Won't find it anywhere else if it's a discontinued part. You'll just have to search around for the right color wheel.

Ball joints and control arm bushing probably. The front suspension has too many moving parts and most shops will just have you throw parts at it. Hard to find someone nowadays that will take the time to diagnose suspension issue.
