11' CC 4x4 want to drop
Are the denali awd trucks lower in the front and rear than a standard CC 4x4 silverado or sierra. I'm wanting to drop mine some but 2"front 4" in the rear just doesnt seem low enough. This damm truck is like stepping into a freightliner.
I've noticed that the 4x4 tahoes are much lower than the 4x4 trucks and have the identical front suspension set up THUS: posing the idea to me of doing tahoe front springs combined with a 2" front, and then a 4"+ drop in the rear to get it leveled out and down to a sporty streetable level. Anyone with ideas feel free to drop them off. |
springs and spindles for the front and a flip kit for the rear could get you to 4/5
Ground Force make the best spindles but their web sites says flip kits not recommended for towing. I did mine 2/3 but it really doesn't look that much different from stock unless it's parked next to a stock truck. |
It's street light hauling duties only. I have a 3/4 work truck for towing duties. So whats the deal with Mccaugheys spindles. They have the gm award for design but every thread I've read people are split 50/50 over their quality control or adverse effects after they are installed.

I've read mostly good things about the McG spindles...I've got groundforce on mine and can't say anything bad about them.

I have personally put spindles on 3 gmt 900 trucks.
Belltechs were ok, needed big alignment adjustments. Mcg, ball joints don't seem to seat very well, big alignment adjustment. GF, powdercoated, fit perfect, Zero alignment needed. |
I would go with a 2/4-5 with Mcg coil relocators and a flip and lift hanger. Ive done many many Mcg spindles and do know what your talking about on the ball joint but it has never caused a problem for me or anyone ive heard of. A 2/4 is noticeable on these trucks, its sporty but not slammed.

Will going 3 in the front using spindles and 1" shorter coils cause any problems. Anyone here dropped a 4x4 lower than 2" in the front.

GF spindles, flip kit, air bags for level loads. 2/4 or 2/5 i dont remember but its level

You nailed it thats the height I'm wanting

2/4 Mcg, spindles needed an alignment big time :D leaf springs at the back, ride was a lil bouncy, so got 4 shocks from beltech. looks good too.

We do wheel alignments at the shop so alignment is no problem. BUT, do they need alignment to the extent that once everything is correct there is no more adjustment left in the event it needs alignments in the future or is there still room for lots of adjustment in the future if necessary?
|
The fact that it needs a lot of alignment doesn't necessarily mean much of anything it is in what department all of the adjustment needs to occur and how much lee way you have to do alignments in the future that will tell you where you are actually at when it is all said and done.

Could be the mcg spindles I installed were defective or the design has changed since. The top ball joints didn't seat in the hole in the top of the spindle the way the oe ones do, like there was not enough taper cut in the spindle. I recall at the time a few other people reporting similar fit issues. On the same truck[2008] the upper ball joints were trash in 10k miles and had to be replaced. That may not be related to the spindles. |
I know what your talking about and there is a little seat issue but has had no effect on anything.
