you're lifted, so its not like your trying for 12s in the 1/4 mile like i am.

im going to be using 1350 u-joints vs stock u-joints. they're stronger than stock u-joints.

im using the yoke that came on the 2 peice, considering it is the same transmission. yall with the the 6L80e will have to have your yoke from your current driveshaft swapped over to the 2 peice. pretty simple.

i will be working on the truck tomorrow when i wake up, considering its almost time for me to go to work so i dont have time to tinker.

i got a few peices of metal here that im going to drill some holes in, then shim it the way it needs to be and go from there. hopefully ill be done with the driveshaft stuff by next week and when i go on my days off ill install everything. plus Monday im installing my new gears and tru-trac

I did this and went back to one piece. It's not so much your speed, but the revolutions. Yeh yeh, speed is relevant. It's not a bad idea, certainly not knocking it, but if you are really scared and don't have the money or equipment for this, get your one piece speed balanced and only use 3rd gear on the dyno.

I have the stock 2 piece if one of ya want it. My set up is 4wd, so I have the transfercase involved in the measurements. Which btw is why the 2wd guys with the extended cab get the 2 piece. You don't want to go over a certain measurement in length before the shaft becomes a noodle at any revolution/speed. I forgot the measurement. Just check out denny's driveshaft, they will tell you the max length for any particular material, thickness and circumference.

So let me ask. Would a shaft out of a new CC shortened for my RCSB be worth it? Would it be stronger than what I have is what I am asking. I guess it would be about 3ft or so shorter?

Would this work for my Z71? Of course I would have to shorten it, unless the 99-02 Z71s had a two piece? How much did you guys pick them up for?

the 4wd 2 peice is what you need, then make a bracket for it.

im doing the 2 peice no matter what. my gear ratio and tire selection will need my 3rd gear just to cross the 1/4 mile.

my 1 peice vibrates at 80-90 then again at 110+ id rather run a 2 peice drive shaft vs a 1 peice. Truckshop has ran 130 on his custom 2 peice. i dont run that kind of speed a lot but its the point for the track. whatever i run in the 1/4 mile thats what ill stop at on the street.

ive gone 120MPH on my stock 1 piece aluminum. It vibes at 100 and smoothens out after that but you can feel a slight vibration.

Been over 100 on it several times. Not so much anymore, i just want to know that when i do decide to, its not gonna snap on me.

welp good luck.
SCSB trucks are breaking them on the dyno stock. so just think about a longer one. you may be the "lucky one" but id rather change something to keep from destroying anything vs destroy other things that i could have prevented

Yeah I figured you were going for speed/ 1/4 mile times. Good luck with the project and hope to see pics.
