This sending unit will then pass its findings on to the ECM to tell it to switch to the E85 fuel map or to stay with the Gasoline fuel map.
I dont want to hijack his thread,(can start a new one if you would like to chat about it more) but i was under the assumption from what ive heard the newer trucks dont have a sensor and calculate the ethanol content from the 02 findings after a change in tank volume..
the older nbs and maybe early nnbs trucks were only ones to have a flex fuel sensor, and a expensive one at that..
also obviously FF vehicles have different pumps, and different buckets because of that. From that i would guess the plug on the pump/sending unit would be different, but thats just a guess imo..

alright just an update for today. the harness came in, and i got to look at it. couldnt notice any real difference UNTIL i started to examine the harness closer to my stock harness. there is only a few things you have to change/repin on this new harness. dont be scared, IF you are going to take on the task of installing a 6spd in your truck then you shouldnt be scared to repin/cut and solder this harness.

depin the new harness, and swap everything to your stock plug from your new harness you just got.

this is the 12v relay plug on the new harness, my starter isnt like this. just depin it and cut the clip off as close to the end as you can

install a new eye crimp and shrink wrap it.

ALSO the MAP sensor on the new harness is different, i forgot to get a pic of it. i had an old harness from my 94 5.3 swap so i cut the MAP sensor pigtail off and cut the new harness back about 2". i then soldered the new pigtail in and shrink wrapped it then taped it up like it came from the factory. you can just go to the dealer/part store an buy the 09 MAP sensor to work with the harness if you are scared to cut it.

the new harness is installed, i moved the 12v lead from by the frame/LT area and ran it straight down under the motor mount for a straight shot to the starter (it has enough room)

i changed the rear seal, and installed the flexplate. im done for the day im tired. i only got 2hrs sleep today before i started running around chasing parts/working on this.

REPIN THE MAF SENSOR ALSO no pics of that, but its pretty simple. i burnt up 2 MAF sensors, AND crashed a ECM because of it.

Your truck didn't come with the TCM and all that did it? Since it came with a 4l60, shouldn't it be similar to a NBS truck?

my truck is just like the 99-07classic the only thing is i have a seperate tcm on side of the ecm. the 07+ caddi/denali's have a ecm only with a tcm in the transmission. the 09+ 5.3 came 6spd 2010 you was able to get any model almost with the 6spd.

see the light blue plug with the silver square on it? thats the TCM that i no longer need in my truck.
this is why i had to swap to the 2009 5.3/6spd harness. everything is the EXACT same except what i pointed out and modified.

i also taped the DOD plug into the harness so its not just hanging around. im going to do the same with the Rear o2 sensors. i cant stand crap just hanging around.

your truck already comes with a 6spd so HUSH its really not that hard, just gotta have some sense of direction and not be scared to mess up. IF this was my DD i would have just bought a performabuilt lvl 2 and rebuilt the converter, but since its not my DD i dont mind having it down for a while tinkering with it and getting the kinks worked out.

My 2010 has the 6 speed, but you never know what a guy might be up to , people been about a guy in Mabank dreaming up a 2007 RCSB V6 Work Truck build with full weight reduction/engine/tranny swap, etc but then again we all know how rumors can be.

Seriously though I got to give you some props on this write up, can't wait to get up that to run with you guys on the street/strip some day.
