Parking Brake Cable Rubbing Through Shock
This probably only applies to GMT900 Escalade, Tahoe, Yukon, and Suburban trucks, but I finally fixed my parking brake cable rubbing on my left / driver's rear shock. It has been rubbing since I bought the truck, but got worse when I lowered it.
If you have the same issue, it was an easy fix. I noticed that the right / passenger brake cable had plenty of slack and the left / driver brake cable need about an inch more slack. All I had to do was loosen the tension nut on the tensioner, disconnect the cables from the tensioner, and swap the two brake cables in their mounts (top / bottom). Move the longer cable up, and the shorter cable to the bottom mount... and all fixed.
This last photo is after I switched the two cables.
Hope this helps somebody... Also, I'm curious if anyone else had the blue-ended cable on the top instead of the bottom. Maybe they just didn't put mine together right at the factory.
