What Sensor?
#1
Hey Guys,
I got an ABS light on and the truck isnt throwing any codes, i just had my right rotor replaced about a month ago. Is there anyway of telling which front sensor it may be, i have searched and found that the grounds on these trucks suck so i could look at that also. If the sensor is the problem should i just go with an Oriellys or do we have and vendors that supply that i could possibly support?
Thanks for the help
I know my sig may be out of date but truck is a 2002 5.3 2wd no real mods to suspension

You'll need to have the ABS code read, which requires a different tool. I work for O'reillys and our new code scanners have the ability to pull ABS codes, but I'd suspect since work was done on the front right rotor, that it could be your problem. Although both the ABS sensor and ABS ring are on the back side of the hub assembly. It might just be dirty and need cleaning, or you could have a faulty sensor. In my experience, it's usually best to replace the whole hub as they come with a new ABS sensor installed, and aren't all that much more expensive. After all, you'll need to replace your front hubs at some point soon anyways assuming you have a lot of miles (9 year old truck).

the hub assemblies in these trucks have always had issues. The aftermarket replacements have gotten a lot better over the past few years. My 04 ive replaced both front hubs... and my 02 needs one on the drivers side the ABS goes off everytime i apply the brake!

On HPT over the last yr., I have a code for both front sensors, but not to the degree some have had issues.
Do both OEM hubs as well as aftermkt. replacements include sensor when u buy the hub? I was told the OEM units will last longer, but it's a lot more scratch.
