Vibrating sound front end

I own a 2002 Yukon Denali, that when I drive it on the highway for about 45 min to an hour, I start feeling a vibration in front end. It feels like the tire is flat and going to fall off. I pulled to the side of roadway, and when turning the wheel it feels like it's locked in 4 wheel drive. After if cools off I take off and all ok. Only happens on long trips. Machanic told me common problem with all wheel drive denali, transfer case gears lock up due to oil friction heavy and sticky, causing to engage the all wheel drive. Was told need new clutches replaced in transfer case or new transfer case. This sound familiar to anyone .. Any advise greatly appreciated. Thank you

I seem to recall a service bulletin that sounded similar to what you're describing but it's been a while since I stumbled on it.
